It is often thought that physical abuse is worse than emotional abuse, since physical violence can send you to the doctor and physically scar you, but the scars of emotional abuse can psychologically have deeper impacts. Emotional abuse can be just as damaging as physical abuse. If you feel you are being abused by someone you may have feelings of low self esteem, changes in mood or behaviours. You may feel intimidated, anxious, depressed, suicidal or feel isolated and alone. Whether it be sexual or emotional, I can work with you in the therapeutic sessions to unravel the hurt, shame and guilt of the abuse to help you heal and grow from this most painful experience.
